Saw the blood before I felt the pain. It was a clean slice. Definitely advise wearing those cut resistant gloves while using because the little holder thing to keep your fingers away from the blade doesn't tend to work that well.On a different note, it cuts up my veggies really well, though I wouldn't say the slices are uniform despite the settings. One side always seems thicker than the other and no two slices are ever the same. If you're looking for uniformity, it's not this slicer, if you're looking for slicing up veggies and the likes quickly, this does the job.

Awesome product if you want to make fresh homemade chips. Buy the UK one which has the proper 1/32 thickness adjustment which is 0.79 mm pretty close to 0.65mm thickness of commercial chips.

This mandoline does the basic flat cut that is 99% of what you want a mandoline to do and it does it well. The adjustable thickness again is basic, a notched dial from very paper thin to about1/4". If you are looking to cut thin potato chips, this is the one you want with consistent thin slices that are perfect for frying. It is not very wide but any wider would make it harder to control. All in all a great piece of a cooks arsenal, but not for a cook that does not pay attention to the job at hand . . . literally, a mandoline is one of the most dangerous tools if misused and not taken as a potential cutting of your fingers as well as your vegetables. Highly recommended.
